Free Ayurvedic Medical Camp Held at Durgabadi, Tezpur—Around 180 People Benefit from Consultation and Medicines : 11th National Ayurveda Day 2026 Observed with Theme ‘Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow’ : Dr. Achyut Hazarika Highlights Ayurveda’s Role in Preventive Healthcare and Healthier Living
AMO Assam, National AYUSH Mission, District Health Society Sonitpur and Bhairabnagar Yuvak Society Join Hands for Community Health Initiative
TEZPUR, September 23 : Marking the 11th National Ayurveda Day 2026, a free Ayurvedic medical consultation and health awareness camp was organised at Durgabadi, Bhairabnagar, Tezpur, on Wednesday, providing residents with an opportunity to receive free medical consultation, health guidance and Ayurvedic medicines.
Organised under this year’s theme, “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow,” the programme sought to promote greater awareness about Ayurveda, preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyle practices among the public.
Around 180 People Avail Free Medical Services
The camp witnessed an encouraging response from the local community, with around 180 people attending the programme. Participants received free medical consultations from Ayurvedic doctors, advice on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and medicines according to their individual requirements.
The initiative also served as a platform to create awareness about the relevance of traditional systems of medicine in maintaining overall health and well-being and the importance of adopting preventive approaches to healthcare.
Dr. Achyut Hazarika Addresses Gathering
Dr. Achyut Hazarika, Joint Director of Health, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Hazarika shared valuable insights into Ayurveda and its importance in promoting healthier living.
He highlighted the relevance of Ayurveda in everyday life and spoke about the benefits of greater awareness regarding healthy habits and preventive healthcare practices.
Dr. Ratul Saloi, District Nodal Officer, and Anuva Saikia, CRCC, also addressed the gathering. They spoke on various aspects of Ayurveda, healthy lifestyle practices and the importance of adopting preventive and holistic approaches to health and well-being.
Joint Initiative of Health Organisations and Local Society
The medical and awareness camp was organised by the Ayurvedic Medical Organization (AMO), Assam, in association with the National AYUSH Mission (NAM), Assam, District Health Society, Sonitpur, and Bhairabnagar Yuvak Society, Durgabadi, Tezpur.
The collaboration between the health organisations and the local community-based society played an important role in ensuring that Ayurvedic healthcare services and awareness reached residents of the area.
Team of Doctors Provides Medical Consultation
The medical team at the camp included Dr. Bhabhismita Barman, Medical Officer; Dr. Kamlendra Sarmah; and Dr. Pranita Boro, Head of Dekargaon State Dispensary. They were assisted by medical assistants and other healthcare personnel throughout the programme.
The team examined visitors, provided necessary medical advice and distributed Ayurvedic medicines as required. Participants were also guided on healthy lifestyle practices and the importance of preventive healthcare.
Rajiv Jain Plays Key Role in Coordination
Rajiv Jain played a key role in the overall coordination of the programme. He looked after the venue arrangements, logistics and coordination with the Medical Department, contributing to the smooth conduct of the camp.
The Bhairabnagar Yuvak Society also extended active support to the initiative. Society President Mintu Chakraborty and Camp Coordinator Jayanta Ghosh, along with dedicated volunteers of the organisation, worked closely with the medical team and organisers in conducting the programme.
Community Participation Makes Camp a Success
The free Ayurvedic medical camp concluded successfully with active participation from residents of Bhairabnagar and adjoining areas. The initiative received appreciation from participants for making medical consultation, health guidance and Ayurvedic medicines accessible to the community free of cost.
The contribution of the doctors, healthcare personnel, organisers, coordinators and volunteers was also acknowledged as the programme concluded on a positive note, reinforcing the message of “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow.”
