Talent, Excellence and Values Celebrated at ONGC Purvanchal Employees’ Association’s Grand “Abhinandan 3.0-2026” Ceremony
Meritorious Students Felicitated in Sivasagar; Utpal Sharma Calls Education the Greatest Force for Nation-Building

SIVASAGAR, 25 May : In a remarkable celebration of academic excellence, moral values and youth empowerment, successfully organised its prestigious felicitation programme “Abhinandan 3.0-2026” at the ONGC Officers’ Club in on May 24. The grand event brought together students, parents, teachers, ONGC officials, social leaders and distinguished personalities from different walks of life in an atmosphere filled with pride, encouragement and inspiration.

The programme was organised under the aegis of the only recognised labour association of ONGC Assam Asset and aimed at honouring academically outstanding students associated with the ONGC family, including children of regular and contractual officers and employees, as well as several meritorious students connected with the organisation and the district.
Over the years, the “Abhinandan” initiative has evolved into a meaningful social and educational platform dedicated to recognising young achievers and motivating the next generation towards excellence, discipline and responsible citizenship. Since its launch in 2024, the programme has steadily earned appreciation from various sections of society for promoting education, positive values and social awareness among students.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of parents and well-wishers, many of whom described the occasion as not merely an award ceremony but a celebration of hard work, perseverance and dreams. The beautifully decorated venue reflected the spirit of achievement and inspiration, while the presence of eminent personalities added further significance to the occasion.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by . In his speech, Baruah welcomed the distinguished guests, students and guardians and highlighted the importance of recognising academic brilliance in shaping a progressive society.
He stated that honouring deserving students serves as a source of inspiration for countless others and encourages young minds to strive for excellence not only in studies but also in life. He further emphasised that educational empowerment remains one of the strongest pillars for building a responsible and developed nation.
The chief guest of the programme, , delivered a motivational address that deeply resonated with the audience. Calling education “the greatest force for nation-building,” Sharma urged students to remain committed to hard work, sincerity and discipline in every stage of life.
He said that true success is not measured only through examination scores or academic ranks, but also through character, values and humanity. According to him, students must develop qualities such as honesty, compassion, social awareness and responsibility alongside educational achievements.

Sharma encouraged the younger generation to become conscious citizens capable of contributing positively to society and the nation. He also stressed the importance of preserving cultural identity, respecting parents and teachers and maintaining moral integrity while pursuing professional success.
The programme was graced by several eminent dignitaries, including Papori Chetia, Senior Superintendent of Police, Sivasagar, Basanta Gogoi, President, All Tai Ahom Students Union, Central Committee and Uday Paswan, Executive Director (Nominated), ONGC Assam Asset.
Addressing the gathering, SSP Papori Chetia spoke about the growing importance of discipline, mental strength and ethical conduct among students in today’s rapidly changing world. She encouraged students to remain focused on their goals while maintaining humility and respect for society.

Basanta Gogoi, in his address, highlighted the role of youth in shaping the future of Assam and the country. He appealed to students to utilise education as a tool for social transformation and urged them to remain connected to their roots, language and cultural values.
Uday Paswan praised the efforts of the organising association for creating a platform that celebrates talent and encourages educational excellence. He remarked that institutions and organisations must actively contribute towards nurturing future generations, as today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders, innovators and nation-builders.
A major highlight of the programme was the felicitation ceremony for meritorious students who excelled in the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. Altogether, 30 outstanding students were honoured with certificates, mementoes and words of encouragement from the guests.

Special recognition was accorded to , who secured an extraordinary 99.80 percent marks in the CBSE Higher Secondary examination and emerged as one of the top-performing students of the district. His achievement received thunderous applause from the audience and was described as an example of dedication, determination and academic brilliance.
Similarly, was specially honoured for securing 97.33 percent marks in the SEBA examination. Guests and attendees praised the students for bringing pride not only to their families but also to the district and the educational community.
