Charaideo District Administration Organises Agniveer Preparedness Programme

Physical Screening Conducted at Sonari College Field to Prepare Youth for Armed Forces Recruitment

Sonari, May 12 : The Charaideo District Administration successfully conducted the Agniveer Preparedness Programme on Tuesday at Sonari College Field. The initiative aims to prepare local youth, particularly 10th and 12th pass candidates, for recruitment into the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force under the Agniveer scheme.

The programme was graced by Dr. Neha Yadav, IAS, District Commissioner, Charaideo, and Vivek Sharma, ACS, Assistant Commissioner & Executive Magistrate, Charaideo. Senior officials from the Indian Army and a large number of enthusiastic aspiring candidates also participated actively.

Rigorous Physical Screening Conducted

As part of the screening process, candidates underwent comprehensive physical assessments conducted by Indian Army officials, including Height measurement, Pull-up tests, Running activities.

These tests were designed to evaluate the candidates’ current physical fitness levels and readiness for the upcoming Agniveer recruitment process.

Motivation and Guidance from Officials

Dr. Neha Yadav, Shri Vivek Sharma, and Army officials interacted closely with the participants. They motivated the youth to stay focused, disciplined, and determined in pursuing a career in the Armed Forces.

Speaking to the media after the event, Dr. Neha Yadav, IAS highlighted the significance of the programme. She described it as a golden opportunity for school dropout students and aspiring candidates to build a disciplined and promising career in national service.

She emphasised that the programme focuses on developing confidence, leadership qualities, physical fitness, and overall awareness among the youth. Dr. Yadav further announced that the district administration plans to organise special training camps across various parts of Charaideo over the next six months with the target of training 300–400 candidates to help them successfully clear the Agniveer Recruitment Examination for the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

A Step Towards Youth Empowerment

This initiative underscores the Charaideo District Administration’s strong commitment to empowering young people and creating meaningful opportunities for them to serve the nation. The programme not only prepares candidates physically but also instils a sense of pride and discipline associated with a career in the Armed Forces.

The event concluded with an inspiring message to all participants “Be an Agniveer. Be the Pride of India.”

This effort is part of ongoing endeavours in Upper Assam to encourage youth towards a honourable career in defence services through structured preparation and administrative support.
