SIVASAGAR, September 25 : In a significant initiative aimed at accelerating industrial development, attracting investment and strengthening entrepreneurship, the Sivasagar district administration has stepped up efforts to facilitate projects proposed under Advantage Assam 2.0. Special emphasis is being placed on identifying and resolving the issues that have delayed the establishment or expansion of industrial ventures in the district.

As part of the initiative, a comprehensive review meeting was held to understand the challenges being faced by investors and entrepreneurs and to facilitate coordinated solutions so that their proposed projects can move forward without unnecessary delays.

Direct Interaction with 38 Investors and Entrepreneurs

The important review meeting was held at the Sukafa Conference Hall of the Office of the District Commissioner, Sivasagar, under the chairmanship of District Commissioner Mridul Yadav.

During the meeting, the District Commissioner directly interacted with 38 investors and entrepreneurs whose proposed industrial units or expansion projects under Advantage Assam 2.0 have yet to make the expected progress.

Yadav reviewed the present status of each proposed project and sought detailed information about the specific reasons and practical difficulties preventing the ventures from progressing at the desired pace. The problems confronting individual projects and possible measures for resolving them were also discussed in detail.

Special Focus on Land, Bank Loans and Financial Bottlenecks

The meeting focused particularly on land-related issues, including land reclassification, difficulties in obtaining bank loans and other financial assistance, as well as administrative and practical hurdles affecting the establishment of new industrial units or expansion of existing ones.

Emphasising the need for swift resolution of these issues, District Commissioner Mridul Yadav called upon the authorities of the departments concerned to take necessary action through effective inter-departmental coordination.

He stressed that entrepreneurs should not have to wait for prolonged periods because of departmental or administrative issues and called for expeditious action on pending matters.

Officials Asked to Assess Ground-Level Challenges

The District Commissioner also advised officials of the District Industries and Commerce Centre (DICC) and other departments concerned to visit industrial areas and take stock of the overall situation on the ground.

Officials were asked to identify and analyse the actual factors causing obstacles during the implementation of industrial projects and take appropriate measures accordingly. The objective is to ensure that practical difficulties are addressed at the ground level and that proposed projects are able to progress more efficiently.

Officials, Banking Representatives and Investors Attend Meeting

The review meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner Pabitra Kumar Das, Mrinall Das, General Manager in-charge of the District Industries and Commerce Centre, Lead Bank Manager Jaydeep Choudhury, officials from various departments concerned, and investors and entrepreneurs.

The meeting underlined the importance of stronger coordination among the district administration, industry-related departments, the banking sector and entrepreneurs to resolve pending issues and translate investment proposals into operational projects.

DC Inspects Advantage Assam 2.0 Projects in Sivasagar and Nazira

Following the comprehensive review meeting, District Commissioner Mridul Yadav, accompanied by officials of the District Industries and Commerce Centre, visited several projects being implemented under Advantage Assam 2.0 in Sivasagar and Nazira.

During the inspection, the District Commissioner reviewed the progress of the projects and took stock of the functioning of the industrial units. He also interacted with entrepreneurs to understand the status of their ventures and various operational issues being faced at the ground level.

Entrepreneurs Appreciated for Employment Generation

During the visits, Mridul Yadav appreciated the entrepreneurs for their contribution to society through the creation of local employment opportunities by establishing new industries and expanding existing units.

He also acknowledged their contribution towards strengthening the local economy and promoting economic development in the region.

The district administration’s initiative is primarily aimed at identifying and removing the obstacles that stand in the way of converting investment proposals under Advantage Assam 2.0 into functioning industrial projects. Through closer coordination among the departments concerned and timely resolution of outstanding issues, the administration seeks to accelerate industrial establishment and expansion across Sivasagar district.
